We’re delighted to share that He Kōhanga Whakaruruhau – The Youth Health Nursing Practice Development Guide is now finalised and live on our website.
This updated guide builds on the strong foundations of the National Youth Health Nursing Knowledge and Skills Framework, first developed by SYHPANZ (now Te Kāhui Korowai Rangatahi – Youth Health Aotearoa) in 2014 with support from the Auckland School Nurses Group and others across the youth health sector. The original framework provided a national foundation for identifying the skills and knowledge essential to effective youth health nursing.
He Kōhanga Whakaruruhau continues that kaupapa, offering a refreshed and practical resource to guide the ongoing growth and professional development of youth health nurses across Aotearoa.
We are proud of this collaborative piece of work and the important contribution it will make to strengthening youth health nursing practice throughout the motu.
Chief author Jodi Cash, RN, presented the guide at the Your Health Conference in Waikato over the weekend.
You can view the guide in the Workforce Development section of our Resources page:
