Throughout this time — both kanohi ki te kanohi and online—the rōpū contributed their advice and experience to a wide range of projects and kaupapa, including:

  • SBHS Promotional Posters co-developed by rangatahi, designed to raise awareness and improve youth engagement with School-Based Health Services.
  • Youth Health Nursing Practice Development Guide — offering critical feedback to strengthen relevance, accessibility, and alignment with real-life youth experiences
  • Representation at Youth Week 2025 — one member joined the SYHPANZ General Manager at a national-level event in Wellington
  • PSNZ Transition Project — providing valuable input into the Paediatric Society of New Zealand’s work to improve transitions from paediatric to primary care

Māngai Whakatipu also delivered an inspiring presentation at the online SBHS Partnership Hui and the co-chairs and deputy co-chairs have demonstrated their growth in leadership and the increasing role they’ve taken in guiding the group’s direction.

At their final hui in June, Dr Claire Achmad, Chief Children’s Commissioner, and two other representatives from Mana Mokopuna joined to acknowledge the significance of rangatahi voice in shaping national policy and systems.
